An ordeal

2023 December 20 was nothing short of an ordeal for me.  Alot of anxiety before and after.  My 2 sons were present throughout to give me moral support.  Inevitable in the aging process?

 

Letting go

With a heavy heart we bade goodbye to this young lady.  You have served the family well for 18 years and now it's time to let you go to someone else who can give you a new life and look after you better than me.

Mother's Day tribute to a comatose mother. 母爱伟大！

This lady went into a coma because of a blood clot in the brain.  At the same time the doctors discovered that she was 4 months pregnant.  After much consultations family members and the doctors  decided to abort the fetus to give the mother a better chance  of survival.  At this point of time the mother suddenly opened her eyes and used her tears to express her objection.   She only stopped tearing when the family and doctors agreed to proceed with the pregnancy.  For the next 5 months she continued to be in a comatose state.  When the baby attained full term a C section was performed, with the odds against the mother's survival .  Against all odds  both mother and child were safe.  The mother even managed a hand gestured a V sign when she was being pushed out the operating room.  Now she has still not fully recovered but always so happy when she sees her baby.

 2020 has been a tough year.  God permits, I hope 2021  will be much much better.

The word politics conjures images of government, politicians and their policies, but also corruption and dirty tricks. This week I witnessed horrible politics at its worst, to say the least!  I give up!  It makes no difference anyway.

Dragonflies are sensitive to pollution

A very attractive deep red dragonfly visited my back lane garden today. The picture does not do it justice 

I read that dragonflies are extremely choosy about their habitat. They do not like to lay their eggs in polluted water bodies. If you happen to see dragonflies around, it is a sign that the ecosystem is in a good condition. One thing is sure, dragonflies are sensitive to pollution.

過得幸福最重要
